Ali as says:. Once again the Quran assists Muslims to review their past history, and makes them understand both their former state and their present stage which they enjoy, so that they may catch well the concept of the lesson taught through the previous holy verses.
This verse implies that they should remember the time that they were few in number and could do nothing. They were captured in the grips of their enemies who had drawn them into weakness and incapability. It says:. They were in a state that they feared that both pagans and those who were their opponents might despoil them away.
This meaning makes manifest the utmost weakness and fewness of the members of Muslims in front of pagans in Mecca before migration of the Prophet S to Medina, or after migration in front of the great powers of that time, like the forces of Iran and Rom. Do not betray Allah and the Messenger, and do not betray your trusts knowingly.
In the commentary books recorded by both great sects of Islam upon the occasion of revelation of this verse, it has been cited as follows:. When the Jewish tribe named Bani-Qurayzah were surrounded by the Muslim strivers under the command of the Prophet S the Jews suggested peace and started moving toward Syria. But the Prophet S did not accept it, and he ordered Sa'd-ibn-Ma'ath to judge over their circumstance.
Finally, Allah accepted his repentance. There has also been cited another occasion of revelation upon this verse as follows in the Battle of Badr, one of the Muslims wrote a letter to Abu-Sufyan and informed him of the Prophet's plan Then, Abu-Sufyan asked for help from the pagans of Mecca, and they sent one thousand fighters to fight in the Battle of Badr.
Now Allah commands the believers not to approach treachery. The holy verse, addressing the believing people, implies that they should not betray Allah s. The verse says. Also, the believers should not be treacherous to the affairs upon which Allah has trusted them, and has given them the fulfillment of them that they accomplish them without any deficiency Thus, he who is treacherous to Allah and the Messenger of Islam S , has been treacherous to his own deposits.
Therefore, treachery is basically ugly and condemned, especially those treacheries which are performed knowingly, and the manifestation of military secrets are uglier and more dangerous, for which, and of course the sinful person must repent very soon. However, the spoils of war, alms, Khoms one fifth levy , and all properties of others, which are with you, are deposits.
And according to the tradition which Shawahid-ut-Tanzil, by Hakim Huskani, vol. Intensive love for wealth and children is the pivot of a lot of evil actions. The love of children may cause a person to escape from the battle-field and not to tolerate a short separation from the family. Then, these are the factors of trial, as explained in the previous verse. Therefore, regarding the occasion of revelation of the previous verse, excessive love to wealth and children causes man to fall into sin and treachery.
The verse under discussion says:. For example, Surah Al-Munafiqun, No. Being attentive to the great reward of Allah causes us to leave the love of the world and also to abandon treachery.
He is over all things competent,' he will be forgiven his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. Please know that the remembrance of Allah brings us great blessings and benefits. There are certain Ayas in the holy Quran that were given a special status, and thus, we are urged to recite them more. One such Aya is Ayat Al-Kursi which is recommended to be recited after every prayer. On its own merits, Ayat al Kursi is a sufficient protection from the Satan.
So, those who read it in the morning will be protected till the evening, and those who read it in the evening will remain protected until the morning. After reciting it, the Muslim is urged, if he had enough time, to sit in his prayer place and remember Allah the Almighty until the sunrise. On this account, the Messenger of Allah pbuh said, "Whoever prays Fajr morning in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun has risen, then he prays two Rakaas, then for him is the reward like that of a Hajj and Umrah.
Complete, complete, complete. Indeed, celebrating the mention of Allah the Almighty is advised at all times and in all circumstances. So, when one leaves house early in the morning heading to work, one should seek Allah's blessings in the beginning of the day. The Prophet pbuh said, "O Allah, bless my Ummah in what they do early in the day. Furthermore, the best way for asking for forgiveness is to say, "O Allah!
You are my Lord. None has the right to be worshipped except You. You created me and I am your servant and I abide by Your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil, which I have committed.
I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I knowledge my sins, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sins except You. Thus, you are urged, O Servants of Allah, to strive to be under the care and protection of Allah so that He will engulf you with success and wellbeing.
Moreover, part of Allah's remembrance is also to perfect one' work. As such, one should head to work with expanded breast and cheerful face, knowing that Allah, the Most Exalted, likes those who are diligent in assuming their work. So, you are urged to show commitment to your work and excellence in performing it. An aspect of excellence is to also show persistence in offering the morning prayer, for Allah the Almighty has attributed special status to it.
An illustration of this can be found in the following Hadith. It was narrated that the Prophet pbuh said that Allah says, "O son of Adam, do not be helpless in performing four rakaas for Me at the beginning of the day; if you perform them I will supply what you need till the end of it. In fact, one should be steadfast on observing all the obligatory prayers at their prescribed times and in congregation.
The Most Exalted says, " indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times. A Muslim should remember Allah, the Most High, on all occasions and at all times. So when one returns home, one should mention Allah's name as well as when eating.
This is because the remembrance of Allah is the best means to expel the devil. Upon Allah's mention, Satan says addressing his followers , "you will find nowhere to spend the night and no dinner. And as one should start one's day with Allah's remembrance, he should, likewise, end it with celebrating the mention of Allah. And if You take my soul, then have mercy upon it, and if You release it, then protect it with that which You protect Your righteous servants.
This way, one would spend his day as closer to his Lord as possible, remembering His name and appreciating His favours. With this in mind, let us seek Allah's favour to help us remember His name, show gratitude for Him, praise Him and perform acts of worship perfectly.
May Allah guide us all to obey Him and obey His Messenger Muhammad pbuh and obey those He have commanded us to obey in line with His orders: " O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. I say this and ask Allah for forgiveness for me and you, so invoke Him for forgiveness, for He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. It is good to know that the remembrance of Allah is amongst the easiest acts of obedience with which the Muslim can occupy himself during the day.
It is also the best means for assuring the heart and the best of all that one may perform throughout his day. One of the most important types of Dhikr is seeking Allah's forgiveness, for it increases one's good deeds and eradicates one's misdeeds. Thus, one would meet his Lord on the Day of Judgment with a pure record full of invocations for forgiveness. On this account, the Prophet pbuh said, "Glad tidings to those who find a lot of seeking forgiveness in the record of their deeds. And in this chance, we will discuss about that.
